Our Story
Hello! We are Zara and Tianeh, co-founders of HerScope. After discovering each other's mutual passion for women's health in our third year at UC Davis, we decided we wanted to join a club. Our university had many community-service-based organizations, but none that addressed the gap in women's health education, advocacy or awareness.
So, we decided to create one.
What started as a shared frustration has grown into a community built on curiosity, passion, and action. We’re excited to continue expanding HerScope and working toward a future where women’s health is openly discussed, understood, and prioritized.

Our Logo
Our logo is a hand-drawn graphic of the internal female reproductive anatomy. It's unmistakeable, unapologetic, and 100% intentional. "Why does it have to be so graphic?" is a question we are often asked. Ironically, it serves as the perfect introduction to our mission. HerScope exists to challenge the stigma surrounding women's health and female anatomy. If we were a club focused around cardiology, would a graphic of a human heart be perceived in the same light? Would people think twice about a brain at the forefront a neurology organization? So why, when the reproductive system is displayed, does discomfort often follow?
When discussing our logo, we encourage people to reflect on why these feelings may arise. Why should an organ system that affects over four billion people be treated differently from any other part of the human body?
We hope our logo leaves a lasting impression and serves as one small but meaningful step towards challenging long-standing taboos surrounding women's health.
