MEET THE ADVISORY BOARD
Carol Lynne Conrad-Forrest, MD
Obstetrician-Gynecologist & Medical Educator
Assistant Professor and Reproductive Systems Course Director, California Northstate University College of Medicine
Dr. Conrad-Forrest is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She practiced in Davis and Sacramento from 1991 to 2019, bringing decades of clinical experience to women’s health education.
Since joining California Northstate University College of Medicine in 2016, she has helped develop and teach the Reproductive Systems course and OB/GYN clerkship. She also served as a clinical preceptor until retiring from clinical practice in 2019.
She earned her MD at the University of Nevada, Reno and completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Wisconsin’s Milwaukee Clinical Campus. Her leadership experience includes chairing OB/GYN at Sutter Memorial Hospital, serving as president of the Northern California Ob/Gyn Society, and participating in the Sutter Davis Hospital Ethics Committee.
Dr. Conrad-Forrest is also a mother and grandmother of two. Alongside her decades of clinical practice, her own lived experience as a woman, mother, and grandmother brings a personal perspective to her commitment to women’s health across generations.
Christy Marie Nguyen
Women's Health Researcher
Ph.D. Candidate, University of California, Irvine
Christy Marie Nguyen is a women’s health researcher studying how reproductive biology influences lifelong health, with a focus on metabolism and endocrine function. She is completing her Ph.D. at the University of California, Irvine, where she studies ovarian RNA splicing as a link between reproductive dysfunction and metabolic health in polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS). Building on this, she will pursue postdoctoral training investigating interorgan communication during maternal adaptation and other reproductive transitions. Christy also serves as the Graduate Student Advisor for HerScope at UC Irvine.
Ultimately, she aims to lead an independent research program in women’s health and sex-informed biology, deepening our understanding of how reproductive and endocrine physiology shape health across the lifespan while developing the next generation of scientists who will continue advancing the field.
